Guillermo Pérez Villalta: artífice urbano (1988-2015)

Artífice fue el título de la gran retrospectiva que, sobre la obra de este tarifeño universal, se celebró primero en Sevilla del 31 de mayo al 30 de julio y luego en Cádiz del 10 de noviembre al 31 de diciembre de 2006. Cubría un gran número de actividades plásticas desde la pintura a la orfebrería y de la literatura al diseño, pero de todas tal vez la más entrañable fue la de diseñador de espacios públicos, de ahí este título de Artífice urbano, para referirnos a esta faceta tan unida a su propia experiencia personal y artística.
Esta comunicación se centra en esta actividad de Guillermo Pérez Villalta como diseñador urbano, concentrada en el actual edificio Guillermo Pérez Villalta, la decoración exterior del edificio Sestibalsa-auditorio Millán Picazo y la plaza del Río de la Miel. Con ello se ha creado en el tramo final de la Avenida del Río de la Miel en Algeciras, un territorio que bien podría llamarse Espacio Guillermo Pérez Villalta. 
Sin olvidar otras obras en La Línea de la Concepción o Carratraca (Málaga).

Abstract:

Artífice was the title of the big exhibition about the Guillermo Pérez Villalta works celebrated first in Seville from 31 of May to 30 of July and then in Cadiz from 10 of November to 31 of December of 2006. This exhibition had the objective to announce his activity like creator: from the Fine Arts to Jewellery, from the Literature to Design, but the most intimate purpose of all was the design of public spaces, so it is the title of this communication Artífice urbano (Urban Maker), to refer to personal artistic experience.
The finality of this study is recover his activity in situ in Algeciras from the out-side decoration of the Sestibalsa-Millán Picazo Auditorium, to the design of the building that takes the name of the artist (Guillermo Pérez Villalta building), since the Plaza of the Rio de la Miel. With these spaces at the end of the Avenue of the Rio de la Miel in Algeciras, we can talk about from the Guillermo Pérez Villalta Space. 
Without forget other works in La Línea de la Concepción or in Carratraca (Malaga).
